Ingredients
- 1 pound confectioners sugar
- 3 large egg whites
- 1/2 teaspoon Cream of Tartar
- optional: food coloring
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a medium size mixing bowl and use a hand mixer on high to beat until stiff peaks form. If the mixture seems too thin, add small amounts of sugar until it peaks as desired.
- Keep Royal Icing tightly covered so it won't dry out. The Royal Icing will remain pliable enough to use for gingerbread house glue about 10 minutes before hardening.
- Optional: Add color to white icing with food coloring.
